Welcome

With a building on this site since 1785 The Wappy Spring Inn and Restaurant has been under the same ownership since 2003 and now has an enviable reputation as one of the areas top a la carte restaurants with the emphasis firmly on English, quality and choice. Open daily and with an oft changing menu to satisfy the legions of regular patrons the Wappy Spring Inn has something to appeal to everyone including vegetarians and those with special dietary needs. Just three miles from Huddersfield town centre, the magnificent surrounding countryside featured in Emmerdale, Last of The Summer Wine and Where The Heart Is satisfies the visual appetite of increasing numbers of tourists whilst The Wappy satisfies the appetite for drink and fine food, Lamb Henry being a popular speciality.

Whilst the provision of first class food is at the top of the menu at The Wappy Spring Inn and Restaurant, those wanting just a drink in the convivial and well stocked bar are most welcome although tables are available only for diners at busy periods, although there is pleny of room at the bar.  During the summer months though The Wappy Spring Inn’s extensive beer garden gives an extra dimension to the overall appeal and is an attractive meeting area for drinkers.

Huddersfield boasts many famous sons and daughters including the late Hollywood actor James Mason, Prime Minister Harold Wilson and comedian Roy Castle whilst currently it is unlikely that actress Thelma Barlow, Mavis from Coronation Street, would say “ I don’t really know” when contemplating a visit to The Wappy Spring Inn although Rene in the form of locally born actor Gorden Kaye is more than likely to say ‘Allo, ‘Allo!

Providing a dining experience of unequalled portions and proportions is what The Wappy Spring Inn is known for and confirmed by the fact that the menu changes frequently to satisfy the increasing number of regular local patrons including many who are happy to get in their cars and drive that extra mile in order to enjoy the finest value for miles around.  On Sundays this extends to cover their now legendary all day Sunday lunches and, as with other days advance booking is advisable if at all possible.
